In the university course “Management of Corporate Processes and Cultures in Digital Transformation”, participants gain practical insights into changing processes and cultures against the background of digital transformation. They learn how to utilise digitalisation as the key to increasing productivity for their business.

The increase in globalisation and accelerating digitalisation is also increasingly impacting (corporate) cultures ‒ a challenge for all employees who operate internationally. This university course supports those in leadership positions who aim to actively shape these changes.

Forms of teaching and learning

This university course takes place in three stages:

Online stage: The online stage of the university course focuses on knowledge acquisition through self-study using a mix of articles, literature on the topic, learning videos and other minor learning opportunities. Participants can therefore study flexibly at any time and anywhere. The TU Graz “TeachCenter” learning platform allows you to contact lecturers and other course participants for questions and exchanges. Before the start of the online stage, a synchronous online session (e.g. Webex) with the lecturer ensures an easy start to the content of the modules. After that, a synchronous online session with the lecturer is held every week to reflect on the course content and to clarify any open questions directly.

In-person stage: Building on the online stage, participants deepen their knowledge in in-person course units supported by experts. Participants discuss, reflect on, deepen and apply the knowledge acquired online by means of example case studies. Participants who cannot attend in person for professional reasons can take part in the courses via an online conference system (e.g. Webex).

Transfer stage: The transfer stage takes place individually or in a team. Participants use the knowledge acquired in the previous stages to work on questions or problems from their specific business context, supported by experts.

After completion of the university course, you will be able to:

  • set priorities for digital challenges,
  • define new (digital) sales channels,
  • make new possible price differentiations,
  • adapt and optimise sales and contracts,
  • identify and implement new digital processing options,
  • use digital media profitably,
  • analyse digital competitive advantages as well as opportunities and risks,
  • digitise support processes,
  • understand cultural aspects (e.g. “cultural awareness”, “company culture”),
  • appreciate traditions,
  • understand the connections between current cultural change and advancing digitalisation,
  • recognise the factors influencing digital collaboration,
  • optimise your appearance and communication depending on the situation (digitally),
  • adapt your environment (office, home office, international teams) to the new circumstances, and
  • use the opportunities offered by digital media for better leadership and teamwork.

The university course is aimed specifically at people in internationally active companies tasked with analysing and digitally optimising decision-making processes, as well as specialists and managers who want to expand their cultural skills with regard to digital media.

The university course is aimed in particular at professionals and managers from the following sectors:

  • Public sector

The prerequisite for admission to the university course “Management of Corporate Processes and Cultures in Digital Transformation” is one of the following qualifications:

The decision on admission to the university course is made by the academic manager responsible on the basis of the qualifications submitted.
