You are talented and want to study at TU Graz? TU Graz supports young talents from Austria and abroad with scholarships in the maximum amount of 8,000 euros for bachelor's degree students and up to 16,000 euros for master's degree students.

Together with national and international companies, TU Graz strives to support every young talented person. And this has a long tradition at TU Graz: One of our greatest talents, Nikola Tesla, financed his studies at TU Graz with a scholarship.

Scholarships for Bachelor’s Students

The maximum amount of the Bachelor's Scholarships is € 8,000. The sum is paid out in rates of € 2,000 per semester over a period of two years upon proof of success. As an additional benefit, scholarship holders receive support from an academic mentor at TU Graz.

You can apply for a maximum of 2 scholarship programmes, provided the requirements are met. A separate submission must be made for each application. However, only one scholarship can be awarded per person.

The scholarship is preferably awarded to newly admitted students at TU Graz.

The application period for the Bachelor's scholarships is expected to be from April to July 2024.

Scholarships for Master's Students

The maximum amount of the Master's scholarships is € 16,000. These are paid out in instalments of € 4,000 per semester over a period of two years upon proof of success. As additional benefits, scholarship holders receive support from an academic mentor at TU Graz and are invited to an annual mentor lunch with all scholarship holders, academic mentors and industry representatives.

You can apply for a maximum of 2 scholarship programmes, provided the requirements are met. A separate submission must be made for each application. However, only one scholarship can be awarded per person.

The scholarship is preferably awarded to newly admitted students at TU Graz.

The application period for the Master's scholarships for English Master's degree programmes with entrance exams is from 15 October 2023 to 15 February 2024. The application period for the other Master's scholarships is expected to be from April to July 2024. You can find an overview of all admission procedures here.

Further Scholarships and Information

In addition to the scholarships within the framework of the TU Graz 100 programme, there are other scholarships for which TU Graz students can apply. Among other things, outstanding achievements in studies, special scientific work or study-related stays abroad are funded.

Merit-Based and Thesis Scholarships

Students of TU Graz with above-average results can apply for a merit-based scholarship. Each faculty awards annual scholarships of 750 to 1500 Euro.

Students of TU Graz can apply for thesis scholarships for writing master’s and doctoral theses. Each faculty awards two thesis scholarships, of 750 to 3.600 Euro, per year.

Information Security Scholarship for Master's students in Computer Science

The Information Security Scholarship is aimed at international students who are taking the Information Security Major as part of a Master's degree in Computer Science at TU Graz and is awarded by the Cybersecurity Campus Graz in cooperation with TU Graz. Preference is given to talented and motivated students who are new to TU Graz. The funding amounts to 4,000 euros per academic year for a period of two years with appropriate proof of success.
