ITalent South East Scholarship

The Industriellenvereinigung Steiermark (Federation of Austrian Industries, Styrian Section) and TU Graz are investing in young talents from South East Europe to allow them to develop their IT and robotics skills – regardless of personal financial situations or conditions – to the full.

ITalent South East

The programme ITalent South East encourages talented and motivated students preferably from South East Europe. Emphasising information technology, the scholarships are intended for the international master’s degree programmes in Computer Science, Information and Computer Engineering and Software Engineering and Management.

Quick Facts

ITalent South East scholarships will be awarded from WS 2023/24:

  • Scholarships for: talented students studying Computer Science, Information and Computer Engineering or Software Engineering and Management
    The scholarship is preferably awarded to newly admitted students at TU Graz.
  • Region: preferably South East Europe
  • Duration: maximum of 24 months (given appropriate academic performance)
  • Conditions: acceptance to the master’s degree programme in Computer Science, Information and Computer Engineering or Software Engineering and Management (Application for these programmes see below).
  • Amount of scholarship:
    • Financial assistance of € 8,000 per academic year (up to two academic years – given appropriate academic performance). Payment is made twice a year at the beginning of each semester.
    • Individual consultation and advice from liaison professors at TU Graz 


The complete applications should be sent by e-mail by 6 March 2023 to tugraz100noSpam@tugraz.at (mentioning the scholarship, e.g. ITalent South East).

The complete application comprises:

  • letter of motivation
  • curriculum vitae
  • proof of excellent academic achievement (Transcript of Records)
  • two reference letters from teachers
  • copy of passport

The documents can be submitted in German or English.

A jury of experts from TU Graz draws up an initial list of awardees. The final selection is made by the Industriellenvereinigung Steiermark. In addition to high professional qualifications, value is placed on a good general education/open-mindedness, interest/creativity and independent thinking.

Admission Requirements

Acceptance to one of the following english-language master’s degree programmes is a condition for being awarded a scholarship:
