Step by Step to Admission

1. Check the requirements

If you have not already done so, please check the page for your chosen degree programme to see whether you meet the necessary entry requirements.

Please note that both academic and language requirements apply.

Country-specific requirements

If you completed your bachelor's degree in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan or Sri Lanka, the following additional country-specific requirements apply.

If you completed your bachelor's degree in Bangladesh, India or Pakistan, you must also complete a competence check at VFS Global before applying.

2. Prepare the required documents

Save the following documents as PDF files:

  • Completed application for admission
  • Proof of a Bachelor’s degree
  • Transcript of your Bachelor’s degree
  • Proof of language proficiency
    • in German (for Master’s programmes taught in German)
    • in English (for Master’s programmes taught in English)
  • Copy of your passport or identity card
  • Recent passport photo (as a PNG or JPG file)

Depending on the country of issue of the documents, you may also require appropriate translations and certifications.

3. Create an account
  • Create an TUGRAZonline basic account here. Once you have completed the registration, you will receive an email to activate your account. If you do not receive an activation email, please contact it-supportnoSpam@tugraz.at.
  • Clicking on the activation link will open a confirmation page in your browser. Please click on “Continue”.
  • You can now choose a username and password of your choice. PLEASE NOTE: The username cannot be changed later! Please make a note of your password!
4. Submit your application online
  • Log in to online.tugraz.at using your account within the application deadline.
  • Click on ‘Applications’, then ‘Submit application’.
  • Select the correct semester and your chosen Master’s programme. Please note that you cannot change your chosen programme once the application process has started.
  • Then upload your prepared documents.
  • Check your details and submit your application.
  • Make a note of your application number, as this must be included on the physical application form later.
  • You will receive an automated confirmation email.
5. Submit original documents
  • Add your application number (from step 4) to the completed application form and print it out.
  • Send the complete application, including all original documents, by post within the submission deadline to:
Technische Universität Graz, Studienservice, Rechbauerstraße 12, A-8010 Graz

The documents can also be handed in at the service point at Rechbauerstraße 12, addressed to the Registrar's Office. However, you will not receive a confirmation of receipt in this case.

Please note: Your application is only complete if both the online application and the original documents are submitted.

6. Waiting for the notification letter

Once you have submitted your application (online and by post), your application for admission will be reviewed.

Please note that processing takes several weeks. Enquiries regarding the receipt of physical documents slow down our processing. In the system, a note will be made for online applications once the physical documents have also been received and linked to your application.

Once your application has been processed, the Registrar's Office will notify you in writing.

If you are accepted, you will receive a letter of acceptance along with information on the next steps in the enrolment process.
