Admission to a Master’s programme without admission procedure with a degree from Austria

Follow the steps on this page if you wish to

  • apply for a master’s degree programme without admission procedure and you

  • have obtained your bachelor’s degree in Austria.

Application deadlines

Admission for the winter semester

  • by 15 October

Admission for the summer semester

  • by 15 March

We recommend that you submit your documents as early as possible, as processing can take several weeks (6–8 weeks) and registration for certain courses begins before the deadline.

Step by Step to Admission

1. Check the requirements

If you have not already done so, please check the page for your chosen degree programme to see whether you meet the necessary entry requirements.

Please note that both academic and language requirements apply.

2. Prepare the required documents

Save the following documents as PDF files:

  • Completed application for admission
  • Degree certificate for the completed Bachelor’s or Diploma degree
  • Transcript of Records detailing the modules, grades and credits for the completed degree
     
  • Additionally for the Master’s degree in Architecture: a portfolio to assess whether your previously completed degree programme can be considered equivalent
3. Create an account
  • Create an TUGRAZonline basic account here. Once you have completed the registration, you will receive an email to activate your account. If you do not receive an activation email, please contact it-supportnoSpam@tugraz.at.
  • Clicking on the activation link will open a confirmation page in your browser. Please click on “Continue”.
  • You can now choose a username and password of your choice. PLEASE NOTE: The username cannot be changed later! Please make a note of your password!
4. Submit your application online
  • Log in to online.tugraz.at using your account within the application deadline.
  • Click on ‘Applications’, then ‘Submit application’.
  • Select the correct semester and your chosen Master’s programme. Please note that you cannot change your chosen programme once the application process has started.
  • Then upload your prepared documents.
  • Check your details and submit your application.
  • Make a note of your application number.
  • Send an email to studienservicenoSpam@tugraz.at, quoting your application number and requesting that your application be processed. Without the application number and the email, your application cannot be processed.
5. Waiting for the notification letter

Once you have submitted your application (online and by post), your application for admission will be reviewed.

Please note that processing takes several weeks (6-8 weeks).

Once the examination has been completed, you will receive a notification letter (RSa letter) setting out the decision regarding your admission.

6. Admission in Person at the Registrar's Office

If you have received a letter of acceptance, you can enrol in person at the Registrar's Office within the admission period:

  • Book an appointment at the Registrar's Office
  • Please come to the Registrar's Office in person on the day of your appointment, bringing your original documents with you.
