The computational grids for CFD calculations are mostly generated with AIGrid3D developed Paul Pieringer, former PhD student at the institute.
The mesh generator uses a proprietary language to describe the shape and resolution of the computational structured meshes. In this way 3D block-structured meshes for turbine and compressor flows can be generated in a flexible way. The generator also allows high-quality meshing for tip-leakage flows. Endwall contouring can be easily done as well as the meshing of cavity flows.
An easy-to-use GUI, based on the portable C++ WXWindows library, allows its application on all Windows and UNIX platforms.
