Measurement Techniques

The Institute of Thermal Turbomachinery and Machine Dynamics uses a wide variety of measurement techniques to obtain precise results and to enhance our understanding of thermal turbomachinery and combustion. These techniques range from sophisticated optical measurement techniques, such as Particle Image Velocimetry, to more common methods, such as pressure and temperature probes. You can find a list of the techniques we use for our investigations below. More information on some of these techniques can be accessed via the link provided.

Conventional measurement techniques:

  • Fast Response Pressure Probe
  • Five Hole Probe
  • Pressure Probe
  • Temperature Probe
