Post-processing

Beside commercial software for data visualization the institute has developed its own software which is simply called Viewer. This Program is a post-processor tool for steady as well unsteady numerical data on structured grids. The OpenGL library was used to obtain a fast image generator.

The main features of Viewer are:

• Fast "marching cube" algorithm for isosurfaces.
• Draws index surfaces in various alignments with transparent shading or isolines.
• Texture mapping on arbitrary surfaces with bitmaps.
• Visualization using various lighting possibilities.
• Possibility to fly through visualized data on arbitrarily defined trajectories.
