The Faculty of Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering at Graz University of Technology invites applications for the position of a
under a full-time permanent contract (§98 UG) to be filled by October 1, 2020.
We are looking for a person from a relevant field with an outstanding research record in Computer Science who complements the existing strengths in our Faculty. The candidate will have strong experience in interdisciplinary research and either applies theories and models from Behavioral and Social Sciences to the design of software, or applies computer science approaches to phenomena in Behavioral and Social Systems. Possible areas of interest include, but are not limited to, Cognitive Science, Cognitive Computing, Computational Psychology, Computational Social Sciences, Social Network Analysis, User Modeling, Intelligent User Interfaces, Decision Support Systems, and Artificial Advice Givers.
The candidate will play a central role in developing and broadening our interdisciplinary collaboration with Business, Psychology, and Sociology at the University of Graz. Graz University of Technology and the University of Graz are developing joint interdisciplinary study programs with a focus on Computational Behavioral and Social Sciences (Route 63). The candidate is expected to help coordinate and strengthen these teaching initiatives.
Participation in teaching at bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral level and active participation in academic self-administration are expected. Excellent command of written and spoken English is required to represent the field internationally and to teach graduate courses. If the candidate does not speak German, we expect the willingness to learn German.
We expect the successful candidate to transfer her or his residence to the area of Graz.
