Highly Talented Students Receive Scholarships
In a multi-stage selection process, 13 students from Graz University of Technology proved to be particularly talented and thus earned themselves highly endowed scholarships. During a festive ceremony at the Alte Technik campus on Wednesday, the seven female and six male scholarship recipients were presented with their scholarship certificates. The scholarships for Bachelor's students are worth 4,000 euros per academic year, while Master's students receive 8,000 euros per academic year. The scholarships are financed by partners from business, industry and the public sector. Their commitment is a strong and effective endorsement of Graz as a centre of education and innovation.
Top young talents for Styria
“Our scholarships are an important tool for attracting the most talented students from Austria and abroad to study at Graz University of Technology and, as a result, strengthening Styria as a centre of science and business,” says Graz University of Technology Rector Horst Bischof. “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our sponsors for their financial commitment and for giving our students valuable insights into their organisations. I am confident that this will prove to be a sound investment.”
Mentoring and insights into business practice
The scholarships are linked to academic records and have a maximum duration of two years. During this time, students receive support from academic mentors at Graz University of Technology. Close ties with the sponsors also give them important insights into business practice.
Thanks to the support of eleven companies, associations and institutions, a total of 50 students are currently benefiting from a ‘TU Graz 100’ scholarship. The 13 newly awarded scholarships are funded by the following sponsors (in alphabetical order):
- Austrian Power Grid AG: APG Scholarships (one bachelor's scholarship and two master's scholarships)
