Unite! Research School 2025

From 3 to 7 November 2025, this event will unite MSc and PhD students alongside researchers and industry leaders from all over Europe for an unforgettable experience. This year’s programme will shine a spotlight on some of today’s most critical and captivating topics, including: Space and Tech, Engineering Biology and AI & Cybersecurity. The intensive blended programme gives 3ECTS for MSc students and 30 training hours for PhD students. 

Zukunftsfond Steiermark

The 17th call of the Zukunftsfonds Steiermark, in cooperation with the SFG, supports cooperative research and development projects in battery technology - with a focus on resource-efficient processes, circular economy, and digitalization - with a total funding volume of EUR 3 million.

The aim is to promote excellent research projects (basic research/translational research) that combine the strengths of the three BioTechMed-Graz partner universities.

BioTechMed: Young Researcher Groups

The objective is to support the efforts of the most exceptional and promising postdoctoral fellows and to promote interdisciplinary, excellent and innovative research projects that involve collaboration between the three partner universities and a research area of BioTechMed-Graz.
- Funding: Max. EUR 500,000 for 3 years

BioTechMed: Lab Rotation Program

The Program will enable international and national students with a master’s degree/diploma MD to become personally acquainted with the research teams and work done in laboratories of BioTechMed-Graz full members. The aim of the LRP is to give potential doctoral students a chance to broaden their scientific interests beyond the topic of their master's thesis before they decide on applications for specific doctoral programs.
- Stipend: EUR 8,000 for personal use, EUR 4,000 for the host institution

BioTechMed: Best Collaborative Paper Award

The Best Collaborative BioTechMed-Graz Paper is a yearly award to authors to recognize their outstanding collaborative scientific publication with BioTechMed-Graz affiliation.
- The prize winner receives EUR 3,000.
- Deadline: 10.09.2025

Development of a Joint Course (online, blended)

Seize the opportunity of receiving a grant for developing a joint course with an international partner. We are looking for teaching collaborations that foster learning in an international classroom using didactic concepts that incorporate digital technologies.

Funding: 3 x 15.000 Euro
Target group: TU Graz lecturers: Priority is given to junior lecturers (i.e. university assistants, and assistant professors). A professor/senior lecturer can act as coach in the project team.
