From Therory to Practice
The habilitation is the highest-ranking university examination in most Western European countries, with which the teaching qualification in a scientific subject is determined as part of an academic examination procedure. Habilitations at the Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering follow the habilitation process of TU Graz. In September 2022 the Habilitation procedure from DI Dr.techn. Peter Roth with the scientific subject "Applied Computer Science" started.
Peter Roth has worked on countless scientific projects that use artificial intelligence for image, text and data processing. It turns out that the mathematical problems behind even the most different questions are always similar. If you want to analyze and process data with artificial intelligence, you have to solve the mathematical problems behind it. On January 1, 2022, Peter Roth took over the management of the new Institute for Computational Medicine, the future interface for digitization as a tool from clinical operations to improving animal welfare and the implementation of the One Health principle at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna. Having grown up on a farm, he would like to combine his two passions, computer science and agriculture, in a meaningful way.
