Quality Management, Evaluation & Reporting

The Quality Management, Evaluation & Reporting staff unit is responsible for the conception, planning, further development and coordination of QM strategy, model and tools as well as evaluations in research, teaching and administration. It supports the university management during strategy processes as part of its institutional research duties, developing and providing key figures and statistics as well as carrying out empirical analyses. It is also responsible for non-financial external and internal cross-divisional reporting. In addition, the data protection coordination group at TU Graz and the office of the Commission for Scientific Integrity and Ethics are located in this staff unit.

Core Activities

  • Conception, planning, further development and coordination of quality management at TU Graz, incl. quality controlling
  • Planning, preparation and coordination of external quality audits, evaluations and certifications
  • Implementation, further development and execution of internal audits and evaluations (e.g. course evaluations, person-related evaluations) as well as indicator-based process support
  • Conception, further development, implementation, interpretation and documentation of central university statistics (research, teaching, intellectual resources)
  • Overall responsibility for the Intellectual Capital Report at TU Graz and meeting related reporting obligations, as well as monitoring budget-relevant key figures in accordance with UniFinV
  • Operation and further development of or definition and implementation of key performance indicators for internal reporting and monitoring systems, the meeting of various external reporting obligations and the fulfilment of internal/external ad hoc requests
  • Coordination and documentation of data collection processes by external bodies (e.g. R&D survey of Statistik Austria) and internal/external surveys at TU Graz (e.g. IHS student social survey)
  • Management of the presence of TU Graz within the international university rankings
  • Planning and implementation of benchmark analyses and empirical studies
  • Planning and implementation of the data protection strategy in cooperation with the external data protection officer and support of the TU Graz data protection advisory boards
  • Ongoing management of all data-protection tasks (e.g. keeping the register of data processing activities, data protection impact assessments, preparation/examination of contracts)
  • Office of the TU Graz Commission for Scientific Integrity and Ethics
  • Advising TU Graz staff and students of the staff unit’s scope of duties
  • Permanent representation of TU Graz in relevant external networks and working groups (e.g. QM Network of Austrian Universities, IG Datenschutz) and institutional liaison representative for the CESAER network
