Admission to Master’s Degree Programmes without Admission Procedure

You want to enrol in a Master’s degree programme at TU Graz that does not require an entrance examination and the bachelor’s degree programme you have completed in Austria is not specifically listed as suitable previous education?

Just apply for admission! TU Graz will then review your application and notify you in writing whether you have been admitted and, if so, what additional steps you may have to complete.

This information is based on currently applicable legal regulations. Should the applicable laws change before the time of your actual application, you must meet the requirements applicable at that time; this may include mandatory participation in an entrance examination.

Requirements

  • Your desired Master’s degree programme at TU Graz does not have an admissions procedure (see Admission Procedure).
  • You completed a Bachelor’s degree programme at an Austrian university.
  • The Bachelor’s degree programme you completed is not specifically listed as a suitable previous degree programme (see the curriculum of your desired Master’s degree programme).

Required documents

  • Completed Application for Admission
  • Degree certificate of the previously completed Bachelor’s or diploma degree programme
  • Diploma of the previously completed Bachelor’s or diploma degree programme
  • Transcript of records of the previously completed degree programme, including detailed information on examination subjects, grades and ECTS credit points
  • Diploma supplement of the previously completed degree programme

For admission to the Master’s Degree Programme Architecture, you must also submit a portfolio so that TU Graz can verify whether your previously completed degree programme can be considered equivalent to the listed suitable degree programmes.

Procedure

1. Send us all required documents in one e-mail to studienservicenoSpam@tugraz.at.

2. Your documents will then be reviewed by the relevant officer responsible for study matters. Processing your application may take several weeks (6‒8 weeks).

3. Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive a formal notification (RSa letter with return receipt) with the decision regarding your admission.

4. If your application is approved, you can then proceed with the next steps of the admission process.

Application Deadlines

Once you have successfully completed your Bachelor’s degree programme, you can submit your application for admission whenever you like. Applications for admission to the winter semester must be submitted by October 15, and for admission to the summer semester by March 15.

However, we recommend submitting your documents as early as possible, as processing of your application may take several weeks (6‒8 weeks), and registration for certain courses can begin before the respective winter or summer semester deadline.
