Courses (curricular workload)
- Build up a broad base of knowledge about the scientific work and research on your dissertation topic and specialize on this topic
- Deepen your knowledge in the following areas:
- Current research (lecture series)
- Research in cultural studies of architecture
- Buildings and energy
- Buildings and function
- Exchange information on the progress of and results from your dissertation with your supervisor and other students
- Duration of study: 3 years
- Academic degree: Doktorin/Doktor der technischen Wissenschaften (Dr. techn.; translation: Doctor of Technical Sciences), equivalent to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

How structured scientific work can be accomplished effectively will be taught in the available seminars and lectures, which provide a focused, discursive learning environment. On one hand, the individual approaches to the work, and on the other hand, the dissertation topic in a broader scientific context, will be reflected upon using different methods.
