With a modern smartphone, everyone now has a high resolution digitalcamera attached to a high performance parallel computer in theirpocket. On the one hand, the constantly increasing amount of visualinformation demands faster and better algorithms, while on the otherhand it also opens the space for new exciting applications. At our department,we host several internationally renowned research groupsworking in visual computing. Our research areas include computervision, visual analytics, computer graphics, augmented reality andhuman-computer interaction. Our scientific excellence is reflectedin a growing number of international and national research projects(ERC grant, Christian Doppler laboratories), in top-tier publicationsand close cooperations with our industrial partners.
