The elections of the Austrian Students’ Union take place this year between 9 and 11 May. Students are once again called upon to determine their own student, university and federal representatives. Information on polling stations, candidates and everything else worth knowing can be found at wahl.htugraz.at.
At the same time, teaching staff is invited to refer students to the elections in their courses. Freely usable materials can be found in the cloud.
Teaching staff at TU Graz can currently apply for financial support for their courses again. The call is not subject to any thematic restrictions, the requirement is the implementation of the project in one or more courses from the academic year 2023/24 onwards. These can be newly designed or existing courses.

This year's mentoring for pupils officially began with the kick-off event on 17 February. For one year, students of TU Graz and the University of Graz will accompany students in writing their pre-scientific work (VWA) or diploma thesis. A total of 26 students (16 from the University of Graz, 10 from TU Graz) are assisting 37 pupils or teams of pupils (for diploma theses) from all over Styria.
The mentoring includes research tips, insights into studies and research, peer-to-peer advice and much more. Students also participate in free continuing education and receive three ECTS/semester. Fit for Math: Online course and study group
“Fit for Math” is all about repeating and consolidating your knowledge of mathematics before the start of your studies, so that the first semester goes (even) better. In addition to the free online course, there is a separate learning group for the summer semester for the first time this year, which is led by students and takes place twice a week in February.
Welcome event
Bachelor's and Master's students are warmly invited to an informal welcome talk, where they can ask any questions they have about starting their studies and network with fellow students.
The TU Graz now offers all students a licence for MATLAB, Simulink and all accompanying toolboxes. This licence allows free use of all MathWorks products on private devices.
Students have access to MathWorks learning resources, including online self-study courses, to quickly deepen their MATLAB and Simulink skills. The software can be obtained from the MathWorks portal.

On 14 February, the event In Love with Teaching
will take place for the first time at TU Graz. Teachers who were among the final nominees of the Prize for Excellence in Teaching 2021/22, as well as teachers who submitted contributions for the event, will provide insights into good practices
of their teaching practice.
The World Café format offers enough space to present the about 15 contributions and to promote the exchange among the participants at the respective topic tables. Registration is already open!
