A selection commission decides which applicants will be given place in the degree programme. The selection commission awards a maximum of 25 points: a maximum of 5 points for the letter of motivation and a maximum of 20 points for the subject-specific competences.

The Austrian Universities Act (in German: Universitätsgesetz 2002) requires a special entrance qualification of all university applicants from non-EU and non-EEA countries. This confirmation consists in the fulfilment of additional study specific admission requirements including the admission statement to the chosen degree programme, applicable at an officially recognised/accredited university in the state which issued the secondary education diploma, the bachelor or master diploma.
The Islamic Azad University is not accepted!
What does special university entrance qualification mean?
In order to be admitted at the TU Graz, you have to prove that you are entitled to an admission to your chosen degree programme in the country which issued your secondary education diploma/ degree for the semester you want to start your studies at the TU Graz. A corresponding confirmation referring to the nearest related branch of studies must be provided in cases where the branch of studies applied for does not exist in the country where the secondary school leaving diploma was issued.

Where do you get the confirmation of special university entrance qualification?
The confirmation must be issued by an officially recognised/accredited technical university or faculty of the country where the secondary school leaving diploma, bachelor or master diploma was issued.
Is there a validity period of the confirmation of special university entrance qualification?
It must be valid for the desired date of commencement of studies at the TU Graz.
