Admission Procedure: Bachelor's Degree Programme Architecture

An admission procedure for the bachelor's degree programme Architecture is held once every year. You must write a personal letter of motivation and must take an entrance test.

Dates and Deadlines

ACADEMIC YEAR 2024/25

  • Registration deadline: 1 March 2024 to 15 July 2024
  • Deadline for uploading own work: 22 July to 11 August 2024
  • Additional registration period in exceptional cases: 22 July 2024 - This option is only available if the number of applicants after the end of the registration period is below the specified capacity.
  • Entrance test: 2 september 2024

Procedure

First Step: Online Registration

  • To register for the admission procedure, first create a user account for our online system (TUGRAZonline): create account.
  • Open TUGRAZonline using the link online.tugraz.at.
  • Start the application Applications.
  • Choose Wintersemester 2024/25 and then Bachelor programme and Bachelor’s programme; Architecture.
  • Enter your personal data in full.
  • Upload a photo. This will later be printed on your student ID card, the TU Graz card.
  • Finally, please check your data and then submit it.

If more than 330 prospective students register, the first phase of the admission procedure will be carried out: uploading the letter of motivation.

First Part of the Admission Procedure: Letter of Motivation

You will receive an e-mail with the invitation to upload a letter of motivation. Please write a letter of motivation and in it, answer the following questions:
  • What do you expect from studying architecture?
  • What do you believe architecture does for society, or can do for society?
The letter of motivation should be no longer than 2 A4 pages and should consist only of text. Please save the letter of motivation in PDF format. Please upload the letter of motivation within the deadline in the application Applications in TUGRAZonline.

Second Part of the Admission Procedure: Entrance Test

You will receive an e-mail with information about the date and procedure for the entrance test.

Admission to Study

The Registrar's Office of TU Graz will inform you by e-mail of the decision on your application. If your application to study architecture is approved, you can carry out the final steps of Registration and Admission.
