Since 2007, Pierre Janin has led FABRIQUES Architectures Paysages, an architecture and landscape firm, located in Lyon and in the Loire. The focus of FABRIQUES is agricultural and rural environments. These themes are developed through the construction of private and public agricultural buildings, the creation of buildings and public spaces using local materials in rural and semi-urban areas, and agri-urban studies which link urbanism and agricultural practices.
The lecture will address the themes of rural life, explaining the link between agricultural and architectural practices in rural areas, and exploring the connection with urban planning. The aim will be to explain how to work at different scales, as an architect and landscape designer, within the heart of rural spaces and peri-urban fringes.
