Software Architect / Lead Developer

Full time (40h/week).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, systems analysis and implementation of high-performance, scalable architectures serving the scholarly communication, academic and funding agency markets
  • Integration of new solutions into the existing system architecture
  • Requirements engineering with the scientific staff of TU Graz for advanced digital research and publication services
  • Reviewing and preparing technical reference documentation for developers and stakeholders

Required skills and experience

  • 3+ years of experience designing and implementing software applications
  • Demonstrated programming skill, including design, code review, implementation, testing, and debugging
  • Demonstrated proficiency in web application design and architecture, object-oriented programming, design patterns and data structures
  • Demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders in deriving and validating requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable skills and experience

  • Experience in team leadership
  • Oversee and support the coaching, training and motivation of team members
  • Experience working with and contributing to open source software projects
  • Experience communicating technical needs and issues to non-IT staff
  • Analytical and networked thinking

Classification

Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: the gross salary for this position amounts to a minimum of € 3472,40/month (14x per year). Higher compensation is possible, depending on your qualifications and experience.
