University Assistant (Post Doc, 4 years) at the Institute of Interactive Systems and Data Science

40h/week, presumably starting 01 April 2020.

Admission requirements

Completed doctoral studies PhD in Informatics, Computer Science, Electronics, Apparel Design, Human Factors and Ergonomics with a focus on Wearables and/or Ubicomp.

Wanted Qualifications

ISDS/TUGraz is currently seeking a senior researcher with PhD for a Post-Doc with experience in one of the following topics: Wearable computing, haptics, virtual/augmented reality.
A definite plus will be given to candidates with proven research experience in wearable and / or ubiquitous computing (e.g., publications in ACM ISWC, Ubicomp, ACM CHI) or proven track record in intelligent user interfaces (e.g., ACM IUI, ACM TIIS) and/or human perception, human augmentation, such as Transactions on Applied Perception, Transactions on Haptics, Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics.

  • Experience in prototyping design for wearables, soft robotics, or e-textiles, interface prototyping
  • Experience with fabric constructions, sewing, and digital fabrication
  • Experience with electronic hardware prototyping
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative methods for user research

As part of our team, you will be working on the frontier of wearable computing and intelligent interface technology together with a thriving interdisciplinary team of researchers. You will participate in building a team and conducting research on human centric computing, including but not limited to wearable sensing,  estimation of human physiological states and multimodal wearable displays.

Classification

B 1 under the collective agreement for university employees; the monthly minimum remuneration for this use is currently € 3.889,50 gross (14 times per year, including social and health insurance).
