On October 8, 2025, the Kick-off Event for the Master’s Programme in Computational Social Systems (CSS) took place at Graz University of Technology. Around 100 new CSS-students attended – a diverse group with various academic backgrounds.
Following a welcome by Matthias Raddant , Fariba Karima introduced the field of Computational Social Systems. Stefan Thalman presented the structure and key elements of the study programme, while Silvia Kober from the University of Graz highlighted the bridge between psychology and computational systems. Paula Nauta, a CSS alumna and current PhD student, shared her academic journey, and student representative Erik Koppenhagen offered insights into student life within the programme.
The evening concluded with a buffet, providing an opportunity for participants to network, exchange ideas, and start the academic year together in a relaxed atmosphere.
