Abstract

In this talk, we introduce a new model for nonlinear viscoelastic modeling of the myocardium.  Microstructural tissue architecture is used to motivate the development of a viscoelastic model that focuses on fractional material models to represent the relaxation spectrum.  A novel numerical method is introduced that enables the efficient solution of these models in a finite element context, with results presented for both liver and myocardial tissues.
