Most of our books and journals are on open shelves so that patrons can browse these areas. All other resources are in our stacks and can be ordered at the circulation desk.
There is no charge for borrowing our resources. However, for resources that are not returned on time, we charge overdue fees (PDF in German only). Please make sure to prolong the loan period online or at the circulation desk.
Books can be returned during the opening hours at the circulation desk or via our book-return boxes available at all three library locations.
We provide detailed instructions on how to use the library and its holdings in our library regulations (PDF in German only).

The library licenses a large number of electronic resources. Patrons can access them from within the IP range of TU Graz. TU Graz students and staff can also access these e-books and e-journals from off-campus locations. To do this, install a VPN client on your personal computer.
Please note that the rights to read and download electronic resources may differ between various publishers.
TU Graz students and staff can access electronic library resources from outside the IP range of the university. The way of getting access depends on the resources you want to use:
TU Graz LibrarySearch
Most of our e-books are listed in the TU Graz LibrarySearch. To access these, you need your TUGRAZonline user access data.
Install a VPN client to access databases, licensed e-journals or our e-book portals.
The inter-library loan service will obtain journal articles and books that are not present in Graz. To order these, please use our online form (form in German only). Please note that inter-library loans are subject to fees (PDF in German only). The inter-library loans team will be happy to answer your questions.
Libraries and educational institutions that need to borrow media from our collections are asked to send their requests to firstname.lastname@example.org
The library is constantly updating its collections. In doing this we are happy to follow suggestions by our users. You can submit your suggestions to email@example.com or hand them in at the circulation desk.
The library provides access to Austrian and international standards and regulations. Within the IP range of the university, you can also use electronic ÖNORM standards and ÖVE-guidelines in the standards reading room.
Many standards are also available to students and staff of TU Graz via the database effects 2.0. We are constantly expanding our collection of downloadable standards. Please submit any suggestions for standards that we should acquire to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The library has a collection of rare and valuable books. Readers can search for these in the TU Graz LibrarySearch and can use them in the reading room of the main library (old campus).
Parts of our collections are held on permanent loan to the institutes of TU Graz. When you find these media in the TU Graz LibrarySearch, the results will show an institute as their location.
The conditions for using and borrowing media from these departmental collections are different from institute to institute. You can find detailed information on these conditions on the business card of the relevant institute in TUGRAZonline.
