As soon as they receive their A-levels, many students are faced with the question: Which degree programme is right for me? The new online tool STUDY EXPLORER is now offering guidance for anyone interested in a bachelor's degree programme at Graz University of Technology (TU Graz). The tool is accessible without registration via the TU Graz website.

The STUDY EXPLORER guides users through short sample texts on study content, career prospects, study-related skills and teaching and learning methods for the 19 bachelor's degree programmes and 2 teacher training programmes at TU Graz. Users indicate the extent to which the aspects presented correspond to their own interests. This results in a personal interest profile, which is compared with the characteristics of the degree programmes on offer - at the end, individual suggestions are made as to which degree programmes might be a particularly good fit.

‘We not only want to familiarise prospective students with well-known subjects, but also draw their attention to lesser-known but equally promising degree programmes such as geodesy,’ explains Hannes Müller from the Higher Education and Programme Development Unit at TU Graz. In addition to their test result, prospective students receive further information on the respective degree programmes as well as personal advice.

The STUDY EXPLORER was developed by the Cognitive & Digital Science Lab at TU Graz in collaboration with the Higher Education and Programme Development Unit. The content was created together with lecturers, deans of studies and students.
