The Senate of TU Graz - the third university governing body alongside the Rectorate and the University Council - will continue to be chaired by a woman in the term of office from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2028: At the constituent meeting on 9 July 2025, Annette Mütze, Deputy Head of the Institute of Electric Drives and Power Electronic Systems, was yet again elected as Chair of the Senate.

The Senate members elected Roland Fischer (Institute of Inorganic Chemistry; representative of the mid-level academic staff) as first deputy. Computer Science student Viola Brod (representing the students) remains second deputy, and Karin Stana Kleinschek (Institute of Chemistry and Technology of Biobased Systems, representing the full professors) was re-elected as third deputy.

“On behalf of the Rectorate, I would like to warmly congratulate the newly appointed Senate Chair team on their election,” said TU Graz Rector Horst Bischof in an initial statement. “We look forward to continuing our fruitful collaboration in order to promote the positive development of our university together. Challenges lie ahead of us in the coming years, which we will only be able to successfully overcome by working side by side with all university bodies and members of TU Graz.”

“Shaping the future of the university over the past three years as Chair of the Senate has been an enjoyable and challenging task. I am delighted to be able to continue in my position. As before, my Senate colleagues and I want to work together with the Rectorate as partners and critical counterparts to make TU Graz even better for all members of the university,” says Annette Mütze.
