This annual event brings together academic and industrial researchers from all areas of intelligent systems research in order to discuss theoretical foundations and their application in practice. Without doubt, today many smart, intelligent systems assist us more or less visible in our everyday's live. Be it the more or less successful smart behavior of our mobile phone, autonomous trains connecting airport terminals, recommender systems drawing our attention to products we might need, or autonomous rovers exploring outer space or hazard sites. Complementing about 70 paper presentations, we will enjoy three keynotes: Reiner John: "The 2nd wave of AI -- Thesis for success of AI in trustworthy, safety critical mobility systems''), Dietmar Jannach: "Session-based Recommendation: Challenges and Recent Advances'', and Louise Trave-Massuyes: "Contributions of diagnostic reasoning to the general demand for AI in the industry''. See you at IEA/AIE 2019!
