Nobel Laureate Edvard I. Moser will give a lecture on "The Brain's Systems for Space and Time". Edvard Moser is founding director of the NTNU’s Kavli Institute for Systems Neuroscience and Co-Director of Center for Neural Computation in Trondheim, Norway.
His work, conducted with May-Britt Moser as a long-term collaborator, includes the discovery of grid cells in the entorhinal cortex, providing the first clues to a neural mechanism for the metric of spatial mapping. He has received numerous awards for this accomplishment, including the 2014 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
