Preliminary programme online

The preliminary programme for the 19th Energy Innovation Symposium is now online! Based on the high-calibre review process, the programme committee has included over 230 contributions in the preliminary programme.

We cordially invite you to participate in the 19th Symposium on Energy Innovation
from 11–13 February 2026 at TU Graz.

Topic:
“ENERGIZING EUROPE – Innovations for a Sustainable Energy Economy”

The symposium is organized by the Institute of Electricity Economics and Energy Innovation (IEE) of TU Graz in cooperation with the co-organizers Austrian Association for Electrical Engineering (OVE), Oesterreichs Energie, and the Austrian National Committee of the World Energy Council.

The symposium is supported by Austrian Power Grid AG, Energie Steiermark AG, EVN AG, KNG-Kärnten Netz GmbH, TIWAG, Region Graz, and Holding Graz, and is held under the auspices of:

  • Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy and Tourism (BMWET)
  • Federal Ministry for Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure (BMIMI)
  • Province of Styria
  • City of Graz

More than 230 peer-reviewed contributions from academia, industry, and public administration provide the latest insights and practical solutions in the following thematic areas:

  • Security of supply, electricity markets, regulation, and environment
  • Modeling, optimization, and simulation of energy systems
  • Transmission grids and equipment
  • Future-proof distribution grids
  • Renewable energy
  • Hydrogen, renewable gases, and infrastructure
  • Energy communities
  • Energy efficiency
  • Flexibilization of the energy system
  • Heating and cooling supply
  • Energy storage for the energy transition
  • Electric and future mobility

The symposium is structured into thematic streams and specialized sessions to ensure maximum benefit for all participants.

The participation fee is EUR 400 and includes the conference materials, two evening events, and full catering (lunches, dinners, and coffee breaks) throughout the three-day symposium.
