Experience the opening of the 19th Symposium on Energy Innovation at TU Graz. Under the guiding theme “Energizing Europe – Innovation for a Future-Proof Energy Economy,” experts from academia, industry, and politics come together to discuss the key decisions shaping Europe’s energy transition.

In this opening video, the following speakers appear:

  • Univ.-Prof. Dr. Udo Bachhiesl (Head of the Symposium): He welcomes more than 650 participants and emphasizes the importance of academic exchange as well as the strong involvement of young professionals in the energy sector.
  • Dr. Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer & Mag. Elisabeth Zehetner (BMWET; via video message): In a greeting from Vienna, they highlight the transformation of the energy system as a decisive issue for Europe’s competitiveness and attractiveness as a business location.
  • Rector Univ.-Prof. Dr. Horst Bischof: He presents TU Graz as the “Home of Innovation” and offers insights into the university’s internationally leading research in the fields of hydrogen and battery technology.

This video shows the ceremonial closing of the 19th Symposium on Energy Innovation (EnInnov2026) at TU Graz. The head of the symposium Udo Bachhiesl looks back on three intensive days of professional exchange and networking.

  • Optimism & innovation: Despite major challenges in the energy sector, the speaker draws a positive conclusion. The presentations demonstrated a remarkable variety of concrete solutions for a future-ready energy world.
  • Science communication: In the spirit of innovation, the conference materials and presentations will be made available free of charge on the website in order to promote the flow of knowledge without paywalls.
  • Thanks to partners & sponsors: A substantial part of the video is dedicated to thanking the co-organizers (such as Österreichs Energie and OVE), the ministries, the Province of Styria, the City of Graz, and the many industry sponsors.
