Reinforcement Actions

The maintenance of structural infrastructure is a topic of increasing importance for the national economy. Particular importance is attached to roads, bridges, tunnels and water structures....

At the LKI, such problems are usually dealt with on an ad hoc basis and often combined with field tests. This ranges from reinforcement measures using high-strength prestressed composite anchors in bridge construction to reinforcement measures using prestressing technology or additional textile concrete layers to the experimental investigation of punching shear problems in existing structures in order to be able to implement customised reinforcement measures. This field of work also includes more fundamental research activities such as the investigation of the effect of two-dimensional concrete reinforcements on orthotropic steel roadway slabs.
