Insights into markets, policy, and technology for tomorrow’s renewable energy systems.

At the 12th Energy Economics Colloquium hosted by Salzburg AG, our institute head Sonja Wogrin delivered a keynote that addressed key issues surrounding the development of sustainable energy systems.

Her talk, titled “Profitability in a Field of Tension: Market, Policy Design and Technology for Future Renewable Energy Systems”, highlighted the critical connections between market mechanisms, policy frameworks, and technological innovation necessary for a reliable and profitable energy transition.

During her talk, she also briefly referenced the recent blackout in Spain as an example of the practical challenges that lie ahead in maintaining grid stability.

The keynote was followed by a panel discussion featuring Sonja Wogrin (Graz University of Technology), Michael Strebl (Wien Energie GmbH), Michael Baminger (Salzburg AG), and Siegfried Müllegger (Salzburg AG), moderated by Stefanie Amann (Salzburg AG).

We sincerely thank Salzburg AG for the invitation and the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue with experts from both academia and industry.
