IEE Teambuilding 2025

The IEE spent two exciting days in Carinthia with technical tours, excursions, and joint activities.

On September 29 and 30, 2025, this year’s teambuilding event of the Institute of Electricity Economics and Energy Innovation (IEE) at TU Graz took place. The goal of the trip was to strengthen team spirit, gain professional insights, and create shared experiences.

The first day took the team to Carinthia. After traveling together, the program started with a technical tour of the impressive Kölnbrein Dam. Employees of Verbund AG provided us with fascinating insights into Austria’s largest dam structure. Equipped with warm jackets, the group explored the inside of the dam, where a constant temperature of 8 degrees prevails. Afterwards, the team went on a hike along the reservoir before the day ended with a convivial dinner at the Kölnbreinstüberl.

The second day began with a visit to Kärnten Netz GmbH in Klagenfurt. Following a joint lunch at the company’s cafeteria, the group proceeded to the switchyard. There, the team received detailed insights into the system operation and control of the regional power grid.

With many new impressions and strengthened team spirit, the group returned to Graz in the afternoon. The varied program of technology, nature, and community experiences made the 2025 teambuilding event a special highlight of the institute’s year.
