Robert Gaugl was allowed to take part in a guided tour of the never commissioned nuclear power plant Zwentendorf.

Just over 40 years ago (November 5, 1978), the plebiscite on the commissioning of the nuclear power plant Zwentendorf took place. Because a minor majority (50,5%) was against the commissioning, the already with fuel rods equipped nuclear power plant was never put into operation.

EVN, since 2005 the sole owner of the nuclear power plant Zwentendorf, regularly offers very popular (free) guided tours through the NPP Zwentendorf. In addition to the history of the power plant, it also deals with the operation of a nuclear power plant and, in particular, the boiling water reactor.

Today, the nuclear power plant Zwentendorf is producing electricity, but 100% sustainable and renewable from a photovoltaic system.
