At the “PV and Energy Storage” conference, Robert Gaugl and Moritz Wenclawiak (APG) presented key insights from the study on flexibility and storage in Austria.
During the Austrian Conference on Photovoltaics and Energy Storage (4.-5. November 2025 in Vienna), organized by the Technology Platform Photovoltaics Austria (TPPV) and the Federal Association Photovoltaic Austria (PV Austria), Robert Gaugl from the Institute of Electricity Economics and Energy Innovation (IEE) at Graz University of Technology (TU Graz) and Moritz Wenclawiak from Austrian Power Grid AG (APG) delivered a “Deep Dive” session on electricity storage.
Their presentation focused on the joint study by PV Austria, APG, d-fine, and TU Graz titled “Flexibility and Storage Needs in the Austrian Energy System”. The study analyzes how the growing share of renewable energy impacts future flexibility requirements and energy storage demand—crucial factors for ensuring supply security and grid stability in an increasingly dynamic power system.
The session took place within the thematic block “Ready for 2030: Smart Grids, Agile Storage and Maximum Flexibility” and attracted strong interest from both experts and industry representatives.
