The Energy Report Styria 2025 has been published and highlights continued positive developments in the energy system.

The Office of the Styrian Provincial Government, in cooperation with the Institute of Electricity Economics and Energy Innovation, represented by Mr. Udo Bachhiesl and Mr. Robert Gaugl, has published the Energy Report Styria 2025.

The report provides a comprehensive analysis of current energy developments in Styria and clearly shows that the energy transition continues to gain momentum.

The key findings are highly encouraging: The share of renewable energy in final energy consumption has increased further and now exceeds 40%. Particularly noteworthy is the development in the electricity sector, where a new record has been reached with a renewable share of 63.6%. At the same time, the use of fossil energy sources continues to decline, especially oil and gas.

These developments underline that the energy system is increasingly moving towards sustainability, resilience, and independence. While challenges remain, the overall direction is clear and encouraging.

We would like to thank the Province of Styria, in particular the Department of Energy Technology and Environmental Funding, for the excellent collaboration in preparing the Energy Report.
