Concrete Student Trophy 2020

Congratulations to the winners of this year's Concrete Student Trophy!

This year the interdisciplinary student competition "Concrete Student Trophy", which was initiated by the Association of the Austrian Cement Industry in cooperation with the Technical Universities of Austria, took place for the 15th time. The theme of the competition was a high-rise building with greenery for the construction site H5 in the Seestadt of Aspern. In the context of the course "Designing specialized topics" in the summer semester 2020 under the direction of Gernot Parmann (Institute of Structural Design) as well as Dirk Schlicke, Thomas Laggner and Christina Krenn (Institute of Structural Concrete), students were able to submit their projects to the Concrete Student Trophy 2020.

We would like to congratulate the winning team Christian Brügel, Thomas Heinrich and Julia Ober for their project "Capa Verde"! The jury, chaired by architect Silja Tillner, was impressed by the exciting and innovative solution of the design. The developed building "blends in unobtrusively in terms of urban development, yet very elegantly into the prominent location on the lake and makes a convincing impression as an attractive residential tower. The combination of architecture and greenery has been very successful".

Nebojša Amidžić, Maximilian Eckart and Katharina Anna Wallner received a recognition award with their "Green Lakeview Tower" project. The team was praised for its courageous and expressive building form, its considerations for elaboration in UHPC, as well as for the generous green spaces.
