Academic SEO

Academic Search Engine Optimization (ASEO) aims to increase the visibility of scientific publications in search engines by specifically optimizing titles, abstracts, and keywords.

Some key principles:

  • Titles should be precise, understandable, and free of special characters. The central keyword should appear early in the title, ideally within the first 65 characters.
  • Abstracts should contain relevant keywords and be clearly formulated. Targeted repetition of important terms can be helpful.
  • Keywords should accurately reflect the content and be consistent with the title and abstract. Vague terms should be avoided.

ASEO also covers technical aspects, such as the use of subheadings, metadata, and the optimal formatting of graphics and PDF files. It is important not to compromise scientific quality through ASEO. Over-optimization can also negatively affect readability and thus the dissemination of the publication.
