Study on air quality in schools published by Verlag der TU Graz

12.06.2025

A new study by TU Graz provides insights into CO₂ pollution in Austrian classrooms. The study has been published by Graz University of Technology Press.

The study shows that the average CO₂ concentration in over 75 percent of Austrian classrooms exceeds the recommended guideline values for average CO₂ concentration. In particularly critical cases, the hourly average levels were found to be nearly seven times higher than the recommended limit.

Conducted by a team led by Robert McLeod and Christina Hopfe from the Institute of Building Physics, Services, and Construction at Graz University of Technology, the study is available as an open access publication on Verlag der TU Graz website.
