Elective subjects

Institute for Technical Informatics contributes catalogues of elective subjects to the study programs „Electrical Engineering“, „Information and Computer Engineering“ (previously Telematics), and „Computer Science“. Here you find more information on the structure of the study programs and the structure of the catalogues. The following catalogues with major contribution of our institute may be selected:

Catalogues of elective subjects

Electrical Engineering (program in German)

  • Catalogue of free electives “Technical Informatics / Pervasive Computing“

This catalogue is intended for students that are interested in modern networked embedded systems. The focus is set on the co-design of hardware and software, operating systems, networking, power awareness, security and safety, where both stationary and mobile devices are considered.

  • Catalogue of free electives “Embedded Automotive Systems“

In this catalogue you find all topics that related to distributed and embedded systems in automotive environments. The institute provides know-how in the area of Hardware/Software Co-design, automotive software, and embedded real-time systems.

Information and Computer Engineering

  • Catalogue of free electives “Communications and Mobile Computing”

This catalogue is suited for all students who want to specialize in the subject of mobile networked systems. Our topics include context- and power-awareness, sensor networks and smart services, which are essential for today’s applications.

  • Catalogue of free electives “Embedded and Automotive Systems“

In this catalogues courses on all issues can be found that are related to distributed and embedded systems specially also in automotive systems – from system design, over software development, real-time operating systems, bus systems, fault tolerance, to functional safety.

Computer Science

  • Catalogue of free electives “Pervasive Computing”

This catalogue is suited for all students who want to concentrate on mobile networked systems. Topics covered by the institute are embedded and dependable systems from design to application. A special focus is put on mobile systems, sensor networks, and smart services, which are essential for today’s applications.
