Non-Exhaust Emission Topics
Exhaust emissions of vehicles have been limited in the EU by constantly improved test procedures and limit values since the 1990ies resulting in a sharp decline in exhaust emissions. Consequently, both in terms of mass and number emissions "non-exhaust particles (NEP) dominate emissions of modern vehicles. With the Lead Project, the ongoing activities at five institutes are bundled, the knowledge kept at the top international level and investments in measurement systems shall be coordinated to establish the TU Graz as a very competent contact for the research in the area of NEP emissions:
- Improving measurement methods
- Development of representative test methods
- Simulation of NEP mechanisms
- Development of reduction technologies
