OPS-SAT PRETTY

OPS-SAT PRETTY is the continuation mission of PRETTY.

The satellite PRETTY (Passive REfleTometry and DosimeTrY) was designed, developed, and operated under a GSTP contract by an Austrian consortium consisting of Beyond Gravity Austria, Graz University of Technology, and Seibersdorf Laboratories. The mission aimed to observe ice and sea levels using passive reflectometry and to measure radiation levels with a dosimeter. After successfully completing its mission in October 2024, PRETTY was incorporated into the OPS-SAT initiative and became part of the OPS-SAT Space Lab in 2025 under the new name OPS-SAT PRETTY (funded by GSTP).

The OPS-SAT Space Lab is an ESA service designed to accelerate innovation in OPS-related areas. It utilizes powerful, reconfigurable space components that enable in-flight experimentation not possible or desirable on other missions. The service provides access to these labs for all European companies, institutions, and the public through a fast, cost-free, and non-bureaucratic process. Industry can focus on generating value while ESA assumes the risk of conducting these experiments.
