Drawing on the tradition of A-frame architecture in exposed natural settings, this course focused on constructing a structure that experimentally explored whether and how architecture can promote ecological coexistence. The aim was to use spatial means to establish a relationship between two different species.
During the process, human and non-human protagonists were identified who jointly programmed the house and determined its materiality and locations worldwide. Throughout the design process, aspects such as architectural design, self-sufficiency, construction and the specific life forms played a central role in providing an answer to what cohabitation might look like. The focus of the course was consistently on analogue production in the form of drawings and model-making.
