Call for Faculty News

© GAM.Lab., TU Graz

Dear Members of the Faculty, Dear Colleagues,

In April 2021 the next issue of GAM – Graz Architecture Magazine will be published. GAM.17 – Wood. Rethinking Material embraces the task of researching the material of wood in all its complexity, and of redefining it as a highly modern and variable building material in different structural, aesthetic, and cultural- historical contexts.

As usual, GAM.17 will devote one of its sections to the “Faculty News”, presenting an overview of the faculty’s most important events and activities spanning from November 2019 to October 2020. In addition, we welcome submissions to be published via the faculty homepage (category “News”). Many thanks to those institutes and colleagues who have already sent us their contributions for publication on the Faculty of Architecture's homepage during the year – these will of course be taken into account for the print edition. If your contribution has not yet been published on the faculty homepage, please send your contributions to christine.rossegger@tugraz.at, stating "Faculty News contribution" in the subject line.

Deadline for submissions is Monday, November 02, 2020. Submissions that have not been received by November 02, 2020 will unfortunately NOT be considered for the print edition of GAM.17.

We therefore warmly invite all institutes and members of the faculty to submit contributions to the following categories:

  • Faculty: guest professorships, obituaries
  • Research: current and completed research projects, habilitations, dissertations (200-300 words)
  • Publications: monographs, anthologies (100-150 words)
  • Awards: prizes, scholarships, competitions (200-300 words)
  • Exhibitions: participation in exhibitions, workshops, etc. (200-300 words)
  • Events/Projects: participation in competitions, events, workshops, lectures, etc. (200-300 words)

A maximum of three images can be submitted as JPEG for each contribution (minimum resolution: 300 dpi, please include copyright information and caption). Please keep in mind that we have to make a selection of images for space reasons and that images of poor quality cannot be considered. If you need support in the production of high quality photo material, just send me a short mail and we are happy to provide assistance. In the attachment you will also find the Style Guide, which informs about the formal guidelines to be considered for the submission of "Faculty News".

All submissions will be published on the faculty homepage. However, for the print edition of GAM, the editors will make a selection of the contributions as, due to space restrictions, we cannot consider all submissions. Thank you for your understanding.
