“Gaming the Real World” (Eklund, 2016) distributed by Steam, is a documentary which examines how videogames are today affecting our real world environment. It follows the UN “block by block” project that uses Minecraft (Mojang, 2012) as a community engagement and collaborative design platform; urban planning simulations developed with Cities: Skylines (Paradox Interactive, 2015) and Block’hood (Plethora Project, 2016) as an educational tool for sustainable neighborhood development.
