KRAFTWERKSTADT 2017/2018

In Design 3 "Power Plant City" we develop strategic concepts as well as urban development drafts for an area in the Liebenau district. A special feature is the location in the immediate vicinity of the new Mur power plant as well as the heterogeneous building structure in the surrounding area. The aim is to develop strategic concepts for the development of the entire area as well as concrete urban configurations (mass distributions, public spaces) for a smaller section. Different uses (living, working, supply, trade, ...) and different scale levels as well as functional, design-related, ecological and social aspects are to be included in the urban planning design.

In the context of urban development, we deal with the disposition of building masses and their interspaces (public and private open spaces). It is important to understand urban spaces as part of larger ecological and social contexts and to include these influences in the planning process.
