The satellite

OPS-SAT is a 3U CubeSat with deployable solar wings. The bus bus provides the necessary fail-safe infrastructure to operate the payload. It comprises the following subsystems:

  • On-Board Computer (OBC)
  • Coarse Attitude Determination and Control System (ADCS)
  • Electical Power System (EPS), including solar panels and batteries
  • UHF Transceiver for basic low-data rate telemetry and telecommanding

The Payloads

  • Processing platform: high performance reconfigurable system-on-chip modules
  • Fine ADCS for use by experimenters
  • GPS
  • Communication: CCSDS-compatible S-band transceiver and X-band transmitter for high-speed data download (50 Mbit/s)
  • High-Resolution Camera
  • Software Defined Radio (SDR) for radio signal monitoring
  • Optical Receiver for optical uplink experiments
  • Retroreflectors for tracking by Laser ranging stations
