Foundations of Computer Science

Content

This course extends the lecture Foundations of Computer Science (709.019) with additional topics and practical examples.
Topics covered in this course include various areas of computer science, for example:

  •  rules and algorithms
  •  complexity
  • data structures
  • Turing machines
  • determinism
  • computer organisation (CPUs, multi threading, caches, networking, …)
  • programming languages and grammars
  • etc.

There will be weekly tutorial sessions for discussions and questions regarding the assignments.
Additionally, the newsgroup tu-graz.lv.gdi-ice-biomed can be used for discussions related to the course.
 

Material

All materials and assignments will be provided at https://student.cgv.tugraz.at. Details on how to access the materials and hand in the assignments will be provided during the first tutorial session.
