Modern ICT and Operational Technology (OT) systems are becoming increasingly interconnected, which also makes them more vulnerable to cyber threats. To build a clear cyber situation picture, it is essential to know all assets, their connections, and their configurations.
This thesis focuses on designing an open-source dashboard application that collects, manages, and visualizes data from distributed scanning agents. The dashboard will store this information in a database to support further analysis and enable effective cyber situation assessment.
Student Target Groups:

Goal and Tasks:
The primary goal of this thesis is to study existing open-source dashboard platforms and adapt them to support a comprehensive cyber security situation picture. The dashboard should provide an overview of system components, communication channels, and data in use. This practical research will support the development of an asset-centric security approach, improving the ability to detect and respond to cyber threats.
- Explore and evaluate existing open-source dashboard platforms.
- Adapt a platform to provide a comprehensive overview of assets, communication channels, and data.
- Design and implement APIs for data collection.
- Create features for viewing and editing cyber situation data within the dashboard.
- Present findings and conclusions in an oral presentation.
Recommended Prior Knowledge:
- Basic knowledge of computer systems and networking.
- Interest in the topic.
